Energy in Every Hue:

Align Your Chakras with Colour

Whether we’re aware of it or not, color has a deeper impact on our lives than we might imagine. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, colour speaks to our emotions, influences our energy, and serves as a mirror to our internal states. Today, I'm diving into the connection between colour, the chakra system, and the transformative energy of Kundalini rising, as I focus on the JEMM, Colour Your World.

The Dance of Color and Energy

The chakra system, an ancient map of the body’s energy centers, beautifully aligns with the spectrum of colors. These seven energy points—from the grounding root to the transcendent crown—reflect a rainbow within us. The colors we’re drawn to, whether consciously or not, offer clues about our current energy flow.

The Chakra System and Its Colors

In the book, Creating Opulence, I go into detail about the chakras and how they are connected to specific systems in the body as well; these organs and systems are very much tied to the flow of our energy, and so when we notice a chakra is blocked, it is an indication that that body system is struggling, and vice versa.

Each chakra is a unique energy center tied to specific emotions, physical areas, and a corresponding color:

  • Root Chakra (Red): Stability, security, and grounding.

  • Sacral Chakra (Orange): Creativity, pleasure, and emotions.

  • Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow): Confidence, personal power, and will.

  • Heart Chakra (Green): Love, compassion, and connection.

  • Throat Chakra (Blue): Communication and self-expression.

  • Third Eye Chakra (Indigo): Intuition, insight, and clarity.

  • Crown Chakra (Violet/White): Spirituality and connection to the universe.

Notice your preferences and aversions to colors—these can reveal which chakras are balanced or in need of attention. For instance, an attraction to shades of blue may indicate desire to express and communicate, while resistance to yellow could point to a blocked solar plexus chakra, tied to self-confidence.

For those that are new to the chakra system, I found the clip from the cartoon, Avatar, The Last Airbender. If you haven't watched this show, it is highly recommended by everyone that has watched it!

This clip is perfect for explaining each chakra, how it gets blocked and how to clear the blockages.

Chakras and Creativity

Creativity flows through the chakra system like a river, beginning with inspiration at the crown chakra and moving down to be rooted in reality at the root chakra. Each energy center plays a role in transforming imagination into tangible creation:

  • Crown Chakra: Receives divine inspiration and sparks of imagination.

  • Third Eye Chakra: Visualizes and conceptualizes ideas with clarity and focus.

  • Throat Chakra: Expresses creative ideas through words, art, or movement.

  • Heart Chakra: Infuses creativity with love and emotional depth, connecting it to others.

  • Solar Plexus Chakra: Provides the confidence and personal power to bring ideas to life.

  • Sacral Chakra: Fuels creativity with passion and emotional energy, driving the creative process.

  • Root Chakra: Grounds creativity into the physical world, transforming ideas into reality.

When a chakra is blocked, it can disrupt this flow. For example, a blocked solar plexus chakra may hinder the confidence needed to act on creative ideas, while a blocked throat chakra can stifle self-expression. By aligning the chakras, we allow creativity to move seamlessly from inspiration to manifestation.

I have added a page from Creating Opulence to act as a reference sheet:

The Kundalini Connection

At the base of our spine lies a dormant yet potent energy: Kundalini. Often symbolized by a coiled serpent, this energy represents untapped potential. When awakened, Kundalini rises through the spine, passing through each chakra, activating and harmonizing them.

Colours play a significant role in this process. Each chakra is associated with a specific color that vibrates at its unique frequency, enhancing its activation and alignment. For instance, envisioning red at the root chakra can ground us, while focusing on violet at the crown chakra opens us to higher states of consciousness.

This upward movement brings transformation—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The spine, as the central pathway (Sushumna Nadi), plays a crucial role in this process. A healthy, aligned spine allows energy to flow effortlessly, amplifying our vitality, creativity, and connection to the colours within and around us.

I have designed the JEMM, Colour Your World, to help participants explore the colours they are naturally drawn to and understand their significance, as well as identify the colours that may need more balance in their lives. The JEMM also includes exercises focused on connecting with the spine and encouraging energy to flow seamlessly from the root chakra to the crown, supporting the upward movement of Kundalini energy.

What colours have you been gravitated to lately? Which ones bring out your creativity the most? Take a moment to explore how these hues are showing up in your life—whether in your wardrobe, your surroundings, or even in your dreams.

As we move into the Year of the Snake, let’s honor the colours that call to us, balance the ones that feel off, and embrace the energy they bring. Just as colour can spark creativity and align our chakras, it can also guide us toward transformation and renewal.

So, what will you do with the colors of your world today?
