Focus is the Key to your Power
I'm doing this one a day early, because I'll be busy babysitting tomorrow, and won't have time to give this the focus it deserves. Today, I’m diving into the JEMM titled Say My Name. This practice centers on recognizing the divide between the self you’ve created for everyday life and the hero-self you’re stepping into. Just as Clark Kent becomes Superman or Diana Prince transforms into Wonder Woman, they distinguish their roles of serving others from the parts of their lives dedicated to personal identity and growth. I dive deep into my own journey in finding my soul name in an older post that you can find here.
Before you can truly step into your Hero-self, and begin on the journey towards completing the missions you've been given, you need to practice and work on the skills that you've acknowledged in the JEMM, Activating your Powers. It's one thing to know that you are good at these skills, it's another thing to know that you have the courage and finesse to use these skills to now help those in need, or to make an impact on your life, your business, or your family (blood or otherwise).
For seven years, I hardly watched any TV or entertainment, except for one show: Smallville. It wasn’t just something I had on in the background—it was sacred time at the end of the day that I cherished. My ex-partner and I would fully immerse ourselves in each episode, feeling every moment of the characters’ journeys as they faced their fears and hardships. That show didn’t just entertain me; it inspired me. Watching the characters overcome challenges gave me strength and motivation to keep pushing forward in my own life. I really believe it's the modern manual to Christ Consciousness, and I've been meaning to create a course surrounding this show, but that is for another time. Right now I need to focus.
In discussing this particular JEMM and the purpose of it, the scene that comes to mind is when Kara (Clark's cousin, or also known as, Supergirl) starts teaching Clark how to fly. For context, Kara was raised on Krypton, and was sent to earth as a teenager with Kal-el (Clark) when Krypton was being attacked, but she was stuck underwater for years before she resurfaced. And when she did, she was immediately embued with all the Kyrptonian superpowers including flying. Since Clark was raised as a human and didn't have a Kryptonian to train him as he grew up, he didn't fly for the entire 10 seasons of Smallville. At some point, he started to believe he couldn't fly and was never going to. As we all know, he did eventually take flight (I hope that wasn't a spoiler for anyone!).
Here’s the clip I found! Her actual lesson begins at 3:22, but I think it’s worth watching the entire thing—though I may be biased as the ultimate Smallville fangirl. Unless you haven't noticed yet, I am a big superhero nerd, and try to see the superhero in everyone :)
She notices that Clark is overwhelmed by the noise of the world and advises him to focus on a single thing—a butterfly nearby. She tells him, “Live inside that one noise. Make it your whole world.” This beautifully illustrates the challenge of pursuing something big or stepping outside of our comfort zones. Often, we get distracted by everything around us, and those distractions—perhaps even the darkness in the world—can prevent us from fully stepping into our hero-self. When we let distractions pull at our attention, our focus becomes diluted, making it nearly impossible to soar toward the dreams we hold.
I’ve struggled for years with having big dreams and half-baked talents that only got me so far. But over time, I’ve realized that growth isn’t about having it all figured out—it’s about committing to the process, embracing the learning curve, and refining those rough edges along the way. After reflecting on the skills I’ve naturally gravitated toward, the ones I want to continue growing and perfecting, and envisioning how I can use these skills to help others, I know it’s time to focus. It’s time to finally commit to the dreams I’ve been holding onto all these years.
In my last post, I talked about the butterfly transformation and shared my filled-out worksheet from the book Creating Opulence, which detailed my own butterfly process. Taking inspiration from Supergirl’s advice, I feel called to focus on what I’ve written in the Butterfly section of that worksheet. Over the years, I’ve had so many ideas I wanted to pursue, but my unfocused attention—along with time and energy constraints—diluted those ideas before they could fully bloom.
It’s funny how things come full circle. Engaging with this JEMM today brought a Smallville scene to mind, which led me back to my post from Friday and helped me make this connection.
Let this serve as inspiration for you to revisit your own butterfly transformation. Focus on what you’ve written in the Butterfly section, and allow it to guide your energy toward what truly matters. Your dreams deserve your undivided attention.
Well, I guess I will be reaching out to the different fitness studios and event venues today! Wish me luck! :) And as for you, I send you much love and strength, because if you are reading this, I know there is a hero inside of you too, and I'm so honoured to just be in your sphere of awareness.
May we all step into our highest potential, because just as a reminder, that's what the Universe wants us to do!
Much love to you, Hero! May you have the greatest day ever!
